Position Specific Description

The PGD Technical Services Manager for Wind Blades and Structures provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for the Power Generation Division's engineering support for wind turbine blades, towers, and foundations within the EOSS organization. This role drives operational excellence, working closely with operations, central maintenance, supply chain, wind turbine OEMs, and others. The overall team leverages predictive analytics, data-driven insights, and AI-enabled tools to maximize fleet performance, reduce downtime, and to support long-term asset health. The manager champions innovation, team development, and cross-functional collaboration to advance the reliability strategy across NextEra's wind portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead root cause analyses, both with OEMs and independently, to create risk mitigation strategies and long-term solutions for issues that arise in the fleet.
• Drive strategy and execution for blade health, including predictive modeling, failure analysis, and performance optimization.
• Lead the team to leverage technical knowledge of wind blade materials and construction to lead the development of blade repair techniques and procedures.
• Create a culture of quality, leading blade design assessment and criteria to evaluate new blade designs, repairs, and design changes.
• Drive innovation in the use of data science and AI to improve blade repair and replacement predictions to decrease availability lost revenue and to provide planning and execution time for central maintenance.
• Develop and advance foundation inspection and repair guidelines to minimize reactive work.
• Lead wind performance assessment vs. contractual obligations.
• Communicate complex technical findings clearly to executive leadership and key stakeholders
• Lead continuous improvement efforts including QI stories, Six Sigma Projects, and other quality audits and initiatives.
• Support statistical failure count predictions for blades and structures and own the technical project strategy to support budget development
• Present monthly reports to executive leadership on fleet performance, team initiatives, and special topics

The Ideal Candidate Would Have the Following:

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering
• 7+ years of relevant technical experience in power generation, asset reliability, or data analytics
• 3+ years of leadership or people management experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation experience
• Direct experience in the wind industry, with a depth of knowledge on wind blade design and/or manufacturing
• Experience with predictive analytics platforms, drone assessment, job plan development, and project management
• Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
• Strategic thinking and long-range planning
