Westinghouse Electric in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is seeking a PGD-Engineer (Power Generation & Delivery Engineer) for a 1-year contract (W-2). The role focuses on CWE/ROCC process improvements and solar inverter fleet support.

Qualifications

Job description

PGD-Engineer (Power Generation & Delivery Engineer)

Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. 1‑year contract assignment (W‑2).

Your Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

CWE/ROCC Process Improvements

  • Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies.
  • Develop fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists.
  • Use AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, independently handling technical matters.
  • Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general goals, and limitations.
  • Work with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization on technical matters concerning individual projects.

Solar Inverter Team

  • Support component failure rate analysis and development of work plans.
  • Become a subject‑matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites.
  • Assist field technicians and ROCC operators with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues.
  • Help develop countermeasures for recurring issues.
  • Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in another engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience.
  • Utility‑scale inverter and power electronics experience.
  • Ability to work with operations teams.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • 2 years of experience with solar inverters.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Previous experience in operations support or control center environments.

Base salary range: $45.00/hr to $50.00/hr, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
