Job summary

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is seeking team members for the Patient Financial Services (PFS) Support II role. This full-time position supports resolving unpaid claims across Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer types, and provides back-up coverage as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma and 2-3 years hospital business office experience handling filing and collection of claims.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Resolves all assigned unpaid claims including Commercial, Medicare, Medicare Replacement, Workman’s Comp, VA, Hospice, or Medicaid on the Monthly ATB reports and ensures all accounts are paid in a timely manner.
• Provides back-up coverage to Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid Billers for billing or follow-up as needed.
• Provides back-up coverage to the Credit Balance Clerk as needed.
• Ensures unresolved issues for accounts on Medicare, Medicaid and/or Commercial remittance advices are resolved weekly.
• Ensures assigned denials/refiles are followed up within 3-5 business days.
• Edits and prepares Medicaid Claims to be filed daily; ensures transmission of claims is completed and received by Medicaid.
• Assist with completion of Medicare Credit Balance quarterly report.
• Initial billing of all claims generated within inpatient and outpatient Behavioral Health facility.
• Assist with Contract Management underpayment appeals and research.

EDUCATION

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

• 2-3 years previous hospital business officeexperience related to the filing and collection of Commercial and Medicaidclaims.

WORK HOURS

• 8:00 am to 8:30 pm, Monday through Friday

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
