Job summary

SUMH is seeking a dual-role PFS Program Manager and Regional Prevention Director in Utah. The role collaborates with stakeholders at national, state, and local levels to enhance prevention services, coordinate grant projects, and provide technical assistance to local authorities.

The position blends program management with regional leadership, requiring experience in prevention frameworks and strong stakeholder engagement. Hybrid work arrangement is offered with in-office and remote days.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's in prevention/public health with 3+ or 5+ years in the field.
  • Certification in SAPST - SPF or USAPST preferred.
  • Communicating information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience managing grants, contracts, and budgets.

  • Coordinate prevention efforts and training among Local Authority regions.

PFS Program Manager

FT / PT Status – Full-Time

Salary – $28.62 - $43.60 Hourly Wage

Remote Work / In-Office – Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

SUMH PFS Program Manager, Regional Director

This dual role position collaborates closely with key stakeholders and community partners at the national, state, and local levels to improve prevention services across Utah. The employee will function as the Partnerships for Success Program (PFS) Manager to coordinate all aspects of the grant project. The employee will also work as a Regional Prevention Director within the Substance Use Prevention system for the state of Utah to provide technical assistance and training to local substance use authorities.

Examples of Duties
  • Coordinate the monitoring, planning and evaluation of the Partnerships for Success grant and other sources of prevention funding.
  • Coordinate prevention efforts and training among Local Authority regions.
  • Participate in the Prevention Consortium, Built Here - Positive Childhood Experiences committee, Prevention & Early Intervention Committee, Prevention Specialist Certification Workgroup, and other applicable committees.
  • Participate on planning committees for state-wide prevention summits, conferences, and training. Serve as a liaison between SUMH and assigned Local Authorities and coalitions.
  • Meet with LSAA Directors/Coordinators regularly to assess technical assistance and other needs and coordinate prevention efforts.
  • Share expertise in various prevention frameworks including CTC, CADCA Coalition Model, and the Strategic Prevention Framework.
  • Guide assigned local areas in building prevention capacity, community mobilization, and community organization. Act proactively and consistently to promote and acquire a highly efficient and coordinated state, regional, county, and local-level prevention effort.
  • Support Local Authority directors and provide statewide support for evidence based prevention planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Supplemental Information

  • Generally, the best qualified individuals for this job will have previous experience with the community or assigned client base.
  • Program Managers who supervise employees who provide direct care services and are Licensed as a Social Service Worker are generally required to have obtained Social Service Worker Licensure,
  • Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
  • or related Licensure/Certification, to include Social Worker, Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional).
  • This position is currently a hybrid of two (2) in-office and three (3) remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion, at any time, and for any reason.
Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Prevention Science, Public Health, Behavioral Health Science, or related field with 3 years or more of professional work experience in these fields; or a Bachelor's degree or higher in Prevention Science, Public Health, Behavioral Health Science, or related field with 5 years or more of professional work experience in these fields. Certification in SAPST - SPF Application for Prevention Success Training or USAPST (Utah specific).
  • Certification as a Communities That Care Facilitator.
  • Experience working with Utah’s substance use disorder prevention system and with the Utah Behavioral Health Commission or its committees.
  • Experience presenting, facilitating, and teaching about evidence-based prevention strategies.
  • Experience managing grants, contracts, and budgets.
  • Adeptness at communicating information and ideas clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
