Job summary

The PFAS Communications Coordinator at University of Maine serves as a central communications hub for PFAS-related research, outreach, and initiatives across the University of Maine in addition to supporting the federal PFAS Center of Excellence located on campus.

This role is responsible for improving internal coordination, increasing internal and external awareness of ongoing work, and supporting strategic communication planning across a complex network of faculty, research teams and external

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing and maintaining websites (WordPress preferred).
• Experience coordinating across multiple teams or stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as central communications hub for PFAS-related research, outreach, and initiatives across UMaine and the PFAS Center of Excellence.
• Support strategic communication planning and information management across a broad network of faculty, research teams, and external partners.
• Engage stakeholders early in projects to ensure timely, accurate, and regulated communications and to align internal and external messaging.
