Job summary

PTMW, Inc. in Topeka, KS seeks a PFAB Department Manager to lead safety, quality and efficiency of the fabrication processes. You will oversee daily operations, uphold high product quality, and drive continuous improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.

The role requires 5+ years of operational management, LEAN and Six Sigma experience, ERP and KPI expertise, and strong coaching skills to develop fabrication staff. ISO 9001 compliance is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of Operational Management experience.
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (LEAN, 5S, RCA, Six Sigma).
  • Experience with production schedules, ERP, inventory control, budgets and KPIs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
  • Ability to coach and develop employees at all levels.
  • Strong drive for success; resilient and tenacious.
  • Identify and remove obstacles to team success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safety, quality, and efficiency of PFAB operations.
  • Maintain fabrication schedule; meet due dates.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly production reports.
  • Set department goals and data-driven KPIs.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects; reduce waste.
  • Manage inventories and materials levels.
  • Coach and mentor Fabrication leads and coordinators.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and related standards.
