Job Summary

PetSmart's PetsHotel Experience Lead (Hotel Supervisor) provides exceptional service to pet parents and the pets in our care while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role ensures a welcoming and safe environment for pets, proper healthcare, and facility cleanliness. The supervisor oversees maintenance, store opening and closing, associates, and safety standards.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

People Leadership:
  • Facilitates associate experience, training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Delegates and validates daily tasks completion.
  • Leads and directs associates during shifts.
  • Addresses associate complaints and recognizes engagement.
Hotel Operations and Store Experience:
  • Ensures excellent pet parent service and responds to concerns.
  • Maintains pet healthcare and cleanliness standards.
  • Administers medications as needed.
  • Coordinates pet transportation to vet and reports health issues.
  • Handles check-in/check-out, reservations, and medical info.
  • Supports safety reporting, store cleanliness, and promotional activities.
  • Ensures safety and compliance with policies.
  • Performs maintenance and assists other departments as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Full-time availability, flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Proficiency with computer applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • No direct reports but supports associate development and acts as leader in absence of other leaders.
Physical Demands and Environment
  • Requires standing, walking, climbing, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and vision abilities.
  • Must lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally more with assistance.
  • Exposure to pet hair, mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels; handling live animals.
