Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation in Houston seeks a Petrophysics Intern for a structured 12-week summer program. You will collaborate with geoscientists and engineers on data interpretation, software usage, and core data evaluation under mentorship.

The internship offers hands-on projects, exposure to senior leaders, and professional development activities, with relocation/housing support where applicable.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Geoscience or Engineering with graduation Dec 2027 or later.
• Maintain a cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience with computer-based interpretation of data sets and design of algorithms/macros.
• Willingness to work in integrated teams with geoscientists and engineers.
• Exposure to petrophysical software packages (Interactive Petrophysics/Techlog) and DB management preferred.
• Awareness of well logs, core data, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to real-life internship projects within Oxy’s core businesses.
• Work under a manager and mentor with technical guidance through the timeline.
• Engage in training, field trips, and leadership meetings during the internship.
