Job summary

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Petroleum Inspector for Port Arthur, TX. The role focuses on inspecting facilities such as refineries and terminals, performing sampling and quantity surveys for shore tanks, barges, vessels, railcars, and trucks.

Strong emphasis on accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker with problem-solving skills, able to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and operations teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years related experience preferred.
• Familiarity with shore tanks, trucks, rail cars, pipelines, and barges helpful.
• Knowledge of HS&E procedures and gov’t regulations required.
• Strong communication and professional relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive orders and gather required paperwork from Operations Supervisors.
• Ensure equipment is clean, calibrated, and safe to operate.
• Attend meetings with external personnel ashore or abroad.
• Obtain samples and gauge shore tanks, vessels, barges, rail cars, and trucks as instructed.
• Label samples accurately and complete paperwork.
• Deliver samples to laboratory or client facilities for analysis.
