Job summary

JF Petroleum Group is seeking a field crew leader to join our North American fueling infrastructure team. Under the foreman, you will direct a team, read blueprints, operate basic equipment, and help ensure safe, efficient excavation and installation work.

This role involves outdoor work in all weather, significant travel (up to 50-60%), and a focus on quality, safety, and maintaining a professional image on site. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Requires a High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read blueprints and perform basic math.
• Experience with HVAC, pipefitting, petroleum construction, or related field is preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screen, background check, and MVR if driving for the company.

Responsibilities

• Act as a team leader under the Foreman’s supervision to undertake phases of work.
• Direct heavy equipment operators and assist in excavation operations.
• Cut and thread steel pipe and assist in fitting and installation of tanks.
• Assist foreman with grades, paperwork, and site organization.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site.

Description

We serve a diverse clientele including retail fueling stations, commercial and government fleets, and emergency power customers.

Job Duties:

• Under the Foreman’s supervision, act as a team leader to independently undertake a specific phase of work and direct others in the completion of that goal.
• Be able to spot and direct the heavy equipment operators, track hoe and loaders, from the ground during excavation operations. The ability to operate small machinery, such as a skid steer loader or backhoe, is a plus.
• Able to cut and thread steel pipe and assist in the fitting and installation on underground and above-ground tanks.
• Assist with the foreman shooting grades, and simple paperwork.
• Help maintain a clean and organized job site per the foreman’s direction.
• Help maintain a safe job site - make sure all signs and safety barricades and devices are in place and wear the proper personal protective equipment for the task being performed.
• Keep the tools of the trade picked up, cleaned and organized on the truck or job trailer.
• Keep the job inventory straight per the foreman’s directions.
• Communicate and look ahead to avoid problems and help plan.
• Present the Company image and maintain personal appearance.
• Work will include after-hours
• Able to work in all weather conditions – significant portion of the work is done outdoors
• Willing to travel, up to 50-60% of the time

Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or GED required
• Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to safely operate a construction truck and tow small trailers when needed. (No DUI’s within the past 5 years)
• Ability to read a blueprint.
• Basic math and mechanical skills.
• Experience with HVAC, pipefitting, petroleum construction, or related field.
• Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
• Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day.
