Job summary

John H. Carter Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, repair and maintain petrochemical rotating equipment, including pumps, blowers and compressors.

Work may occur at the Geismar facility or at customer sites within about 100 miles. The role emphasizes hands-on discipline, documentation, and customer interaction; overtime, weekends, and on-call work are required as needed. You will work as part of a team focused on delivering quality service.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, NCCER, or trade school in craft preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and/or assembly of petrochemical rotating equipment.
• In-depth knowledge of rotating equipment including pumps, blowers, agitators and compressors.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, diagnose and repair petrochemical rotating equipment in the Geismar facility or at customer sites.
• Assemble new rotating equipment for shipment, including alignment and guarding installation.
• Field activities may include removal/replacement of rotating equipment and baseplates.
• Document work scope and critical dimensions on as-found/as-left forms.
• Potential to manage multiple projects with little oversight and work independently.
• Work overtime and weekends as deemed necessary; be on-call as required.
