The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) prioritizes children by assisting parents in providing for their children’s well-being, health, and stability. OCSS supports parents and guardians regardless of income and immigration status, helping tens of thousands of children annually by increasing household income and collecting over $700 million yearly.

The DSS Court Services (DSS CS) division processes cases from the OCSS Borough Offices and Enforcement division for families receiving Cash and Medical Assistance. It collaborates with the DSS Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) and NYS Office of Court Administration (OCA) to file child support petitions, establish/modification of support, paternity establishment, and manage court hearings and post-hearing actions.

Under the supervision of the DSS Court Services Director/Deputy Director, with considerable independence, DSS Court Services Supervisors oversee staff functions related to initiating court-related child support processes, scheduling hearings, summons processing, and ensuring quality assurance across citywide workflows.

We are recruiting two (2) Principal Administrative Associate II positions as Petition Filing Supervisors who will:

  • Monitor summons service contracts and MOUs, oversee billing reconciliation, and ensure compliance.

  • Oversee staff work assignments for petition generation, summons, notices, and court scheduling across all NYC boroughs using the UCMS system.
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports, monitor performance, and assist in decision-making.
  • Coordinate service affidavits, subpoenas, and related court documents.
  • Lead staff meetings, address errors, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Act as liaison with various agency components, courts, law enforcement, and vendors.
