Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines in Elko, NV is seeking an Underground Miner to join the Pete Bajo Underground Operations team. You will operate haul trucks, conveyors, and related equipment to meet production goals while following safety and environmental policies.

Candidates should be prepared for rotating night/day shifts and to work in a collaborative, high-performing team. The role emphasizes compliance with HSLP, PPE use, and pre-op inspections.

Qualifications

• Underground mining experience preferred.
• Ability to operate haulage equipment safely.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Reporting to the Underground Operations Supervisor, the Underground Miner is responsible for the following:

• Safely operate various pieces of hand, powered or mobile equipment to meet site production goals.
• Comply with Loss Control (HSLP), Environmental, and NGM policies and procedures.
• Comply with state and federal health and safety regulations.
• Teamwork.
• Work Practices.
• Perform preop inspections on all pieces of equipment and machinery prior to use.
• SKILLS - 8 OF 11 ARE REQUIRED. OF THE 8, TRUCKING AND UTILITIES ARE MANDATORY.
• Haul Truck Operation * Demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper heading inspection. - Demonstrate the ability to perform preoperational checks - Demonstrate the ability to suppress airborne dust as required. - Demonstrate the ability to receive muck in a safe and efficient manner. - Demonstrate knowledge of safe ramp travel with regards to traffic and pedestrians - Demonstrate the ability to dump muck in a safe and efficient manner
• Backfill haulage and placement
• Rockbreaker optional
• Conveyor Operation * Demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper heading inspection. - Demonstrate the ability to perform pre operational checks - Demonstrate the ability follow the required lock-out/tag-out procedure - Demonstrate the ability to identify worn or defective components - Demonstrate knowledge of the required PPE for all aspects of the task - Demonstrate ability to monitor conveyor while in operation - Demonstrate the requirements to clear plugged chutes in a safe and efficient manner.
• Slickline * optional - Demonstrate the requirements to perform a proper workplace inspection - Demonstrate the ability to perform pre operational checks - Demonstrate the safe start up of the slickline - Demonstrate knowledge of the lock-out / tag out procedure - Demonstrates securing and proper placement of the mixer truck - Demonstrate the ability to recognize workplace hazards - Demonstrate the ability to shut down, wash out and clean up slickline safely.
• Water Truck Operation
• Dewatering - sumps/pumps operation

• The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
