D is seeking a customer service-focused team member to sell pet products on the sales floor and assist in restocking and merchandise presentation. The role emphasizes helping customers with pet care needs and recommending suitable products to ensure animal health and wellbeing.

Primary duties include greeting customers, sharing product knowledge, and assisting with inventory and displays while maintaining a clean, organized pet section and supporting store operations as needed.

Description

Provide direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor and assisting in customer carry-outs, stocking and restocking of merchandise.This position focuses on assisting customers with pet care needs, recommending suitable products, and ensure the health and well‑being of any animals in-store.

Essential Functions/Duties:

• Greet customers promptly and assist in selecting appropriate pet products, food, toys, grooming supplies, and health‑related items standards.
• Provide merchandise/product knowledge to customers and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
• Advise and assist customers in ordering specialized merchandise when needed.
• Provide accurate advice on pet nutrition, care, and product use.
• Provide assistance in receiving and display merchandise in accordance with specific established policies, procedures and standards.
• Answer telephones and handle routine customer telephone inquiries.
• Maintain a clean and organized pet/animal health section by performing general floor housekeeping; monitor and maintain the condition and safekeeping of merchandise.
• Prepare and participate with inventory cycle activities.
• Move material using appropriate material handling tools and equipment including but not limited to: by hand, hand truck, pallet‑jack, dolly, and/or operation of forklifts or other vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned by management, related to customer service, merchandising and handling of products.

Requirements

Required Skills/Experience:

Must have strong knowledge and experience with pet care, nutrition, and relevant products. Knowledge of horses and tack are desired, not required.Must have knowledge of retail floor sales techniques. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers. Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues. Ability to work as part of a team. Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques is desired.

Required Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED is preferred, not required.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to work majority of shift standing and be able to lift up to 75 pounds to move merchandise and physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects.
