Job summary

Passionately Pets is seeking reliable pet sitters and dog walkers in the Alexandria area to join our caring team. This Part Time supplemental income role involves visiting clients' homes to care for dogs, cats and other companion animals while their owners are away.

Set your own hours as you coordinate visits, walk pets, feed them, and ensure fresh water and clean surroundings. Compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour plus tips, paid per visit.

Qualifications

• Northern VA residence within 5 miles of 22314 is preferred
• Must have your own reliable transportation to perform the duties and responsibilities
• Must have your own reliable smartphone with internet access and data plan
• Must be extremely detail oriented
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Must be timely and punctual
• Must be able to self-manage
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be compassionate about animals
• Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals
• Must be willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
• Must be able to make at least a 6 month commitment, however longer is preferred
• Must be able to pass criminal background check

Responsibilities

• Work weekdays, weekends and holidays, as visits vary based on client needs
• Enter the homes of clients and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15 - 30 minutes each)
• Act as primary care givers for pets while their owners are away
• Walk pets as requested
• Feed pets as requested
• Provide appropriate litter box and/or cage clean up as required
• Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
• Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the absence of their owners
• Clean any accidents or damage discovered in homes of our clients
• Communicate with Management
