Job summary

Passionately Pets in Northern Virginia is seeking reliable pet sitters and dog walkers to join our team. Work outdoors, visit clients' homes, and care for dogs, cats and other companion animals.

This part-time role offers flexible hours, time outside, and the reward of building trust with pets and their families. Responsibilities include visiting pets on weekdays, weekends, and holidays; feeding, walking, litter box care, and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Residence within 7 miles of 22301 is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation to perform duties.
• Smartphone with internet access and data plan required.
• Must be compassionate about animals and able to interact with various pets.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, reliable and punctual.
• Able to pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Visit homes of clients to care for pets for 15–30 minutes per visit.
• Act as primary caregiver for pets while owners are away.
• Walk, feed and provide water for pets as requested.
• Clean up litter boxes or cages as required.
• Report to management and communicate any concerns.

Passionately Pets, a local In-Home Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Company, is currently hiring exceptional pet sitters and dog walkers to join our wonderful team. This position is fun and rewarding as you get to enjoy the outdoors, get exercise and be loved by amazing local dogs, cats and other companion animals!

Pet Sitter Responsibilities:

• Work weekdays, weekends and holidays, as visits vary based on client needs
• Enter the homes of clients and visit with their pets for varying lengths of time (usually 15 - 30 minutes each)
• Act as primary care givers for pets while their owners are away
• Walk pets as requested
• Feed pets as requested
• Provide appropriate litter box and/or cage clean up as required
• Check that pets have ample, clean water supply and refill as necessary
• Patrol homes for accidents or damage caused by pets in the absence of their owners
• Clean any accidents or damage discovered in homes of our clients
• Communicate with Management

Pet Sitter Requirements and Qualifications:

• Northern VA residence within 7 miles of 22301 is preferred
• Must have your own, reliable mode of transportation to perform the duties and responsibilities associated with this role
• Must have your own reliable Smart Phone with internet access and data plan
• Must be extremely detail oriented
• Able to follow detailed instructions
• Must be responsible, reliable, and dependable
• Must be timely and punctual
• Must be able to self-manage
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be compassionate about animals
• Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large animals
• Must be willing to walk and drive in all weather conditions
• Must be able to make at least a 6 month commitment, however longer is preferred
• Must be able to pass criminal background check

This is a Part Time SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME position. Compensation is $24-$28 per hour plus tips and is paid on a per visit basis.
