Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute seeks a PET Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. You will administer radiopharmaceuticals, acquire and process PET/CT images, ensure patient safety, and comply with ALARA and regulatory requirements.

This role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and technologists across departments, ongoing education, and maintaining equipment. A CNMT or ARRT(N) certification is required or registry eligibility with timelines.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Nuclear Medicine training in AMA-approved program preferred.
  • CNMT or ARRT(N) certification or registry eligible required.
  • Registry-eligible must obtain certification within 1 year; CT within 2 years.
  • BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously under physician direction.
  • Measure and record radiation dosage using a computer per prescriptions.
  • Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals to produce diagnostic images.
  • Gather patient history to guide procedures and imaging choices.
  • Dispose of radioactive materials safely and store radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and lab equipment.
  • Explain procedures to patients and assist during tests.
  • Produce images for physician interpretation.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment/cameras.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and participate in training.
