Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists is seeking a PET Nuclear Medicine Technologist to care for patients while operating equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. You will navigate EMR/PACS, ensure safe radiation practices, and support patient care from scheduling to image delivery.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or ARRT(N) registered or registry eligible required.
  • Registry-eligible graduates must obtain certification within one year of hire. ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT) must be obtained within two years of hire.
  • BLS Certification (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases under physician direction.
  • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage per physician prescription.
  • Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients’ bodies to produce images.
  • Gather patient history to guide diagnostic procedures.
  • Dispose of radioactive materials per safety procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment.
  • Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients and assist during tests.
  • Produce images for physician interpretation.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and cameras.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Pursue ongoing education and participate in training programs.
