Job summary

PetSmart’s Pet Stylist (Dog and/or Cat Groomer) delivers compassionate grooming services, ensuring a positive experience for pets and their parents. The role upholds cleanliness, safety standards, and PetSmart values while engaging customers at the salon and register.

You’ll independently perform baths, brushes, nails, and other services, recommending wellness options and scheduling follow-ups. Training and growth opportunities are available within a supportive, inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Grooming experience preferred; or completion of PetSmart Salon Academy training with safety certification or passes salon eval.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs full menu of bath, brush and grooming services and standalone services.
• Recommends additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents.
• Responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes in person, over the phone and at the sales register.
• Greets pet parents, answers questions and assists with salon reservations.
• Maintains client records, conducts appointment reminders, and rebooking.
• Promotes salon sales to meet targets and salon metrics.
• Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise and services.
• Maintains high levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions for all pets in the grooming area.
• Handles sick/injured pets and liaises with vet as needed.
• Assists and works in other departments as required.
