Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide expert grooming services for dogs, including bathing, drying, brushing, cuts, and nail care. You will follow breed standards, ensure safety, and deliver excellent customer service in a busy grooming salon.

Qualifications

Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or previous professional grooming experience.
High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
Latitude for independent judgement with grooming tasks under guidance as needed.
Results-driven with focus on productivity and ownership of the grooming role.
Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
Operate and maintain grooming tools such as clippers, blades, shears, brushes, and dryers.
Prioritize pet safety and comfort, monitor pets for signs of distress, and communicate with pet parents and management.
Educate pet parents on grooming maintenance and at-home care to support pet well-being.
Maintain a clean, safe grooming area following Petco hygiene policies.
