Job summary

Petco is seeking a Pet Stylist to provide expert grooming services for clients' dogs and cats. You will perform baths, trims, and styling while ensuring pet safety and comfort. The role emphasizes attention to detail and customer service in a busy grooming salon.

Experience through the Pet Stylist Apprentice program or equivalent is preferred; weekend and evening availability is required to meet grooming schedules. Medical/dental benefits and discounts accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Completion of Pet Stylist Apprentice program or equivalent grooming experience.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proven grooming experience with knowledge of breed standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling.
• Maintain grooming instruments and keep salon area clean and sanitary.
• Prioritize animal safety and comfort; monitor for signs of distress.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide grooming recommendations.
• Educate owners on at-home grooming and maintenance practices.
• Assist with training and supervision of trainees when needed.
