Job summary

Colony Park Animal Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced Groomer who loves animals and client care. You will communicate with clients at every visit to recommend services and ensure their pets leave looking pampered and healthy.

This is a part-time position based on commission earnings. You will work with a friendly veterinary team, maintain grooming areas, and handle dogs and cats with care in a busy, noisy environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pet groomer with proficiency in various grooming techniques for dogs and cats.
• Knowledgeable about pet behavior and handling techniques to provide a positive patient experience.
• Excellent communication skills to work with pet owners and hospital team members.
• Ability to endure standing and walking for long periods of time, as well as lifting up to 50lbs.
• Able to work in noisy conditions with sounds from other animals and various equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine grooming services such as bathing, brushing, hair cuts, and nail trims for various pets
• Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment
• Communicate with pet owners to understand their specific preferences and requests
• Provide exceptional customer service to build a trusting relationship with clients while their pets are in our care
• Check in clients and coordinate with medical team to ensure patients receive required veterinary services as needed
