Qualifications

• Completion of Pet Stylist Apprentice program or equivalent grooming experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Independent judgment and problem solving in routine to moderately complex grooming scenarios.
• Results-driven with productivity and ownership of grooming tasks.
• Attention to detail to ensure high grooming standards.
• Passion for animals with a desire to continue a grooming career.
• Knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming requirements, and breed-specific cuts.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Operate and maintain grooming instruments (clippers, blades, shears, brushes, dryers).
• Prioritize safety and well-being of animals; monitor for discomfort or illness and report concerns.
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide grooming recommendations and customer service.
• Educate pet parents on at-home grooming maintenance and products.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized grooming area and equipment; follow hygiene policies.
• Adhere to grooming policies and standards; assist/train entry-level trainees when needed.
