Job summary

Mars Incorporated in Texas is seeking a Relief Operator to operate and monitor equipment in full compliance with quality and safety standards. The role supports Senior Operator, Operator, Material Handler, and other peers, with backfill for Lead positions as needed and cross-training responsibilities.

You will perform safety procedures (LOTO, confined space), execute product changeovers, troubleshoot equipment, and document quality checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to respond quickly to production needs.
• High speed or robotic packaging experience.
• Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)
• Computer literate with data entry and record keeping in a computer-based system.
• Must be able to perform all job requirements of listed functional positions.
• Knowledge of food safety practices, GMPs, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment as needed for effective production.
• Maintain safety standards using LOTO and confined space procedures.
• Communicate across areas to prevent downtime and quality issues.
• Perform product changeovers on various equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting to ensure proper operation.
• Monitor quality and food safety controls and take corrective actions.
• Know CCPs and report deficiencies to the quality manager.
• Cross-train and fill in for other functional roles as required.
• Backfill for Lead roles when needed.
• Comply with Mars Petcare quality and food safety practices and regulatory standards.
