Job summary

Southeastern Container, Inc. in Winchester, VA is seeking a Flake to Pellet Machine Operator to safely run the NGR flake-to-pellet system, monitor production, perform setup, and ensure quality.

The role requires strong safety practices, ability to read instructions, basic math, and willingness to work 12-hour shifts including overtime. Training provided; forklift/crane qualification may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Ability to read, understand and follow written work instructions and safety rules
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to learn industrial equipment operation
• Ability to recognize abnormal conditions and escalate when needed
• Clear communication with team leaders and maintenance staff
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays
• Ability to comply with PPE, lockout/tagout, machine guarding and safety requirements

Responsibilities

• Safely start, stop, set up, and operate the flake-to-pellet machine according to procedures.
• Monitor flake feed and material supply to support continuous operation.
• Monitor conditions and production output for quality compliance.
• Notify leads or managers of problems.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and adjust the machine within limits.
• Inspect finished pellets and perform quality checks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Complete required reports on production, quality and safety.
