Job Summary

Employment: PRN

Board Certifications: SC Radiation Quality Standards Association License with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)

Candidate Qualifications:

• Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school ofradiography
• Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently
• Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in Diagnostic Imaging
• Knowledge of Nuclear medicine procedures and protocols
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-Ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement
• Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology

• Skill in identifying and correcting equipment problems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

About the Role

Lowcountry Oncology Associates’ mission is delivering high-quality and compassionate cancer care in our community, for our community and by oncologist who live in our community. We are looking to hire a PET/CT Scan Technologist to perform diagnostic PET/CT and CT Imaging procedures as directed by physician on a PRN basis, to provide patient care essential to the performance of these procedures by performing the duties outlined below.

Responsibilities:

• All Nuclear Medicine procedures are provided and performed in accordance with the requirements of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC).
• All individuals will properly prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic and diagnostic radiotracer studies utilizing a variety of equipment.
• Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
• Moves equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
• Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment in accordance with required calibration schedule.
• All Radioactive materials received will be wiped, surveyed, logged, and properly disposed in accordance with DHEC standard.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Responsible for quality control and reports for Diagnostic Imaging Department.
• Maintains radiation monitors and proper registration of radiology equipment.
• Complies with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to radiology.
• Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment.
• Orders and stocks all radiology supplies.
