Job description

Join us as a PET-CT Technologist (FT) at Akumin

We are seeking a skilled PET/CT technologist with excellent communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety. The role involves interpreting physician instructions, selecting imaging parameters, and producing high-quality PET/CT images to aid accurate diagnosis and treatment. Our technologists work in diverse environments, including outpatient centers, mobile units, and hospitals, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to delivering top imaging care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure patient safety through pre-screening, aseptic techniques, and radiation safety compliance, including proper documentation.
  • Produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and radiologists.
  • Train new technologists and support staff.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment and peripherals.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine (NMTCB or ARRT N).
  • State license and CPR certification.
  • 1-2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
  • Ability to work across multiple locations and travel as needed.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and computer skills.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
Physical and Other Requirements:

Work involves exposure to radiation, infectious materials, and outdoor conditions when mobile. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and assist with patient transfers.
