Qualifications

  • State license as required.

Join to apply for the PET-CT Technologist FT role at Akumin

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort. They interpret physician orders, select appropriate imaging parameters, and produce high-quality PET/CT images to aid accurate diagnosis and treatment. Technologists may work in various environments, including outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospitals, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to excellent care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring patient safety through pre-screening, aseptic techniques, and radiation safety protocols.
  • Producing diagnostic-quality images.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and radiologists.
  • Training new technologists and staff.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and peripheral devices.
Position Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine (NMTCB or ARRT (N)).
  • State license as required.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license if applicable.
  • 1-2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
  • Ability to work across multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Local travel may be needed.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
Physical Requirements:

Exposure to outside weather, radioactive materials, and potential biohazards. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks as needed.
