Responsibilities

  • Conduct PET/CT imaging under physician supervision with proper positioning.
  • Prepare, dose, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and CT contrast.
  • Operate imaging equipment and RIS/PACS systems.
  • Prepare patient room/equipment and educate patients and families.
  • Maintain documentation and QA/QA compliance with regulations.
  • Demonstrate IV competency and safety during procedures.

Overview

Sentara RMH Medical Center, in Harrisonburg, VA, is currently hiring a PET/CT Technologist to join our team in a full time, day shift position.

Hours
  • Monday – Friday: five/8-hour shifts per week
  • Shift start times are staggered between 5am and 8am
  • Rotating weekend call (Saturday and Sunday)

Job Description

Conducts PET/CT imaging of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology. Competent in preperation, dose management and administration of radiopharmceuticals, radioisotopes, IV and oral CT contrast, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment, provides patient and family education and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination procedure and discharge instructions to patient and completes departmental documentation. Complies with all radioactive activity monitoring and documentation. Performs to all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by all state, federal, and local agencies. Obtain IV competency.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $47.70 - $70.52 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
