Job description

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure, and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction every step of the way. They demonstrate technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce high-quality PET/CT images, enabling physicians to diagnose accurately and treat confidently. Working in various environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—our techs deliver the best imaging care at any access point.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and radiation safety compliance, including proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.
  • Producing high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and radiologists.
  • Training new technologists and/or PC's.
  • Troubleshooting scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, coils, etc.).

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license as required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
  • Ability to work at multiple locations and travel locally.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screening are mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be exposed to weather conditions during mobile unit transport.
  • Exposure to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
  • More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk, repetitive hand/arm/leg movements, communicate with patients.
  • Less than 50% of the time: stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting/moving non-ambulatory patients.
