Job summary

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center in Eugene, OR is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to join our oncology-focused imaging team. This full-time role involves PET/CT or CT procedures, contrast administration, patient positioning, and image handling in a supportive, safety-conscious environment.

Required are an AMA-accredited degree with PET/CT certification and CNMT/ARRT credentials, plus 3–5 years of nuclear medicine experience.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from an AMA accredited program and PET/CT certification.
• Minimum three to five years' experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.
• Proficiency in venipuncture/IV.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic PET/CT or CT imaging procedures to include: injection of radiopharmaceutical and/or IV contrast, administration of oral contrast, administration of radiopharmaceutical therapies, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers, and data archiving.
• Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files.
• Assists with the collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
• Ability to adhere to precise protocol instruction for participation in clinical research trials.
• Consistently practices ALARA principles for safety of patients and staff.
• Integrates strict hot lab safety protocols into everyday nuclear medicine procedures.
• Conducts daily quality control on scanner and nuclear medicine equipment to monitor performance status.
• Reports all equipment malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper appropriate? company or facility.
• Responsible for patient data and films including printing, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, tracking and logging of loaned films and requested outside films.
• Understands the contraindications associated with the administration of IV contrast, be able to recognize possible reactions and know the procedure to follow in the case of a reaction.
• Ordering of necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $35.78-$73.02. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.
