Job summary

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to join our oncology imaging team in Eugene, Oregon. This highly skilled role performs diagnostic PET/CT procedures, administers IV contrast as needed, ensures accurate patient data, and supports safe, compassionate cancer care in a fast-paced clinic environment.

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology with PET/CT certification.
• 3–5 years' experience in nuclear medicine; PET experience preferred.
• CNMT and/or ARRT(N) certification and state licensure where applicable; venipuncture/IV proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic PET/CT imaging procedures including injection of radiopharmaceuticals and IV contrast.
• Assists in scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographics, report distribution and patient files.
• Supports data collection for follow-up and development of teaching materials.
• Adheres to ALARA safety principles for patient and staff safety.
• Conducts daily quality control on scanner and nuclear medicine equipment; reports malfunctions.

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center - Willamette Valley's largest privately own multi-clinic cancer care center - is looking for a PET/CT Tech to join our team! This highly skilled role is critical in providing accurate and compassionate diagnostic imaging to support cancer diagnosis and treatment planning. The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $35.78-$73.02. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic PET/CT or CT imaging procedures to include: injection of radiopharmaceutical and/or IV contrast, the administration of oral contrast, administration of radiopharmaceutical therapies, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers, and data archiving.
• Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files.
• Assists with the collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
• Ability to adhere to precise protocol instruction for participation in clinical research trials.
• Consistently practices ALARA principles for safety of patients and staff.
• Integrates strict hot lab safety protocols into everyday nuclear medicine procedures.
• Conducts daily quality control on scanner and nuclear medicine equipment to monitor performance status.
• Reports all equipment malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper appropriate? company or facility.
• Responsible for patient data and films including printing, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, tracking and logging of loaned films and requested outside films.
• Understands the contraindications associated with the administration of IV contrast, be able to recognize possible reactions and know the procedure to follow in the case of a reaction.
• Ordering of necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from an AMA accredited program and PET/CT certification.
• Minimum three to five years' experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
• General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems.
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.
• Proficiency in venipuncture/IV.

Requires ability to reach above shoulder height. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Requires vision and hearing to normal range (with or without correction).
