Job summary

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center in Eugene, OR seeks a PET-CT Technologist to perform imaging, injections, data archiving, and quality control. The role supports cancer diagnosis and treatment planning in a private multi-clinic setting with a strong compliance program.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or radiologic technology from an AMA accredited program
• PET/CT certification and CNMT/ARRT(N) where applicable
• Licensure as required by the state
• Experience in nuclear medicine and PET preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic PET/CT or CT imaging, including injections and imaging procedures
• Assist with scheduling and front office tasks to maintain workflow
• Ensure accurate patient demographics, report distribution and filing
• Collect clinical data for follow-up and educational materials
• Adhere to ALARA and hot lab safety protocols
• Conduct daily quality control on scanner and equipment
• Print, archive, and transfer films and data as required
• Understand IV contrast contraindications and responses
• Order necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media

PET-CT Technologist

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center - Willamette Valley's largest privately own multi-clinic cancer care center - is looking for a PET/CT Tech to join our team! This highly skilled role is critical in providing accurate and compassionate diagnostic imaging to support cancer diagnosis and treatment planning. The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $35.78-$73.02. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic PET/CT or CT imaging procedures to include: injection of radiopharmaceutical and/or IV contrast, the administration of oral contrast, administration of radiopharmaceutical therapies, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers, and data archiving.
• Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
• Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files.
• Assists with the collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
• Ability to adhere to precise protocol instruction for participation in clinical research trials.
• Consistently practices ALARA principles for safety of patients and staff.
• Integrates strict hot lab safety protocols into everyday nuclear medicine procedures.
• Conducts daily quality control on scanner and nuclear medicine equipment to monitor performance status.
• Reports all equipment malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper appropriate? company or facility.
• Responsible for patient data and films including printing, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, tracking and logging of loaned films and requested outside films.
• Understands the contraindications associated with the administration of IV contrast, be able to recognize possible reactions and know the procedure to follow in the case of a reaction.
• Ordering of necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from an AMA accredited program and PET/CT certification.
• Minimum three to five years' experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
• General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems.
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.
• Proficiency in venipuncture/IV.

Requires ability to reach above shoulder height. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Requires vision and hearing to normal range (with or without correction).
