Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy, including PET/CT scans, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images. You will educate patients, position them for procedures, and monitor during imaging sessions.

You will handle radiopharmaceuticals per safety protocols and maintain clinical supplies while adhering to regulations. A minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine experience and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • CNMT by NMTCB or ARRT Nuclear Medicine certification required.
  • ARRT CT certification with CE credits.
  • New York State License.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 2 years nuclear medicine technologist experience.
  • CT certification and PET/CT experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and physician orders to plan imaging procedures.
  • Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and exam expectations to ensure cooperation.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures tailored to patient age and abilities.
  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in compliance with scope of practice and policies.
  • Analyze imaging results and resolve quality issues by repositioning patients or repeating scans as necessary.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals following established protocols and regulations.
  • Continuously monitor patient condition and respond to changes appropriately.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.

Job description

Job Summary:

The PET/CT Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear medicine imaging and therapy, including PET/CT scans, to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. The technologist analyzes imaging results, addresses quality issues, and maintains clinical supplies while adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies. Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by NMTCB or Radiologic Technologist (RT) certified in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT.
  • ARRT CT certification with continuing education credits.
  • New York State License.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience.
  • CT certification and PET/CT experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience with GE PET or Philips PET scanners.
Special Considerations:
  • No weekend, holiday, or on-call duties.
  • Work environment requires adherence to radiation safety and handling of radiopharmaceuticals.
Scheduling:
  • Monday through Friday, with varying shifts of either 7:00 AM 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM 6:30 PM.
