Job summary

Valley Veterinary Clinic Pet Lodge & Salon, Inc. is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to be the first point of contact for clients and their pets. You will handle phones, scheduling, check-ins/outs, payments, and communication across the veterinary team in a fast-paced clinic atmosphere.

The ideal candidate enjoys helping people and animals, can multitask, and maintains a professional, welcoming demeanor while managing confidential information and practice policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills requested.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn veterinary software.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Flexible schedule including some Saturdays.
• Comfort working around dogs, cats, and other animals.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients warmly as they enter the clinic.
• Answer phones professionally and direct calls appropriately.
• Schedule appointments, surgeries, and technician visits as needed.
• Check clients in and out accurately and efficiently.
• Verify and update client and patient information in the practice management system.
• Collect payments and provide invoices; discuss balances when appropriate.
• Communicate clinic policies and vaccination requirements clearly.
• Monitor lobby and ensure clients and pets are comfortable.
• Relay messages between staff and management clearly.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Handle client concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Keep front desk clean and organized; assist with reminders and follow-up communications.
• Support veterinary team with administrative duties as needed.
