About Us

Pawsitive Dawg Walking and Pet Sitting has been providing professional, individualized pet care since 2012. We specialize in solo dog walks, pet sitting, and force-free, fear-free care throughout Waltham, Watertown, Belmont, and parts of Newton.

We're looking for an experienced dog walking professional with administrative experience who enjoys working with animals, supporting team members, and helping daily operations run smoothly.

About the Position

This is a unique part-time opportunity for someone who loves working directly with animals but also enjoys training others, staying organized, and supporting business operations.

Approximately 70% of your working time will be spent providing hands-on pet care and field training, while the remaining 30% will focus on administrative and operational support.

You'll work closely with our leadership team to help train pet care professionals, maintain our high standards of care, assist with scheduling, and support client and team communications.

This position is ideal for someone who already has professional dog walking and administrative experience and is looking to use both skill sets in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Candidates must be available during the following times:

Monday through Thursday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Document training progress and communicate observations to management.

Help ensure team members consistently follow company policies, safety procedures, and pet care standards.

Assist with new client meet and greets and pet care introductions as needed.

Administrative & Operations Support (Approximately 30%)

Assist with scheduling, coordinating coverage, and adjusting daily assignments.

Monitor and respond to routine client and team communications.

Maintain accurate client profiles, pet care instructions, and internal records.

Support onboarding, training documentation, and administrative projects.

Required Qualifications

Experience safely handling dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and behavioral needs.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize responsibilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, scheduling software, and digital communication tools.

Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to changing priorities.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Ability to perform the physical requirements of professional dog walking, including extended periods of walking outdoors in varying weather conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Commitment to positive, force-free pet care methods.

Availability during all required scheduling windows.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience training, mentoring, or supervising employees.

Previous experience working for a professional pet care company.

Familiarity with Google Workspace or pet care management software.

Fear Free certification or additional professional pet care education.

Experience coordinating schedules or providing customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Opportunities
