PetVet Care Centers’ North Madison Animal Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians by cleaning, feeding, exercising, restraining, and handling pets. The role emphasizes compassionate care in a busy, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• 1-2 years animal handling experience

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate care to pets
• Feeds animals as prescribed or as owner requests; records appetites and water intake
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions or distress signs in pets
• Assists veterinarians and technicians with pet restraint
• Maintains hospital cleanliness and ensures safe use of chemicals
• Cleans cages, runs, wards, and related areas; changes litter and bowls
• Completes weekly and monthly chore lists to maintain appearance of the hospital
• Prioritizes tasks effectively
• Maintains kennel laundry and provides fresh bedding
• Walks patients according to schedule
• Follows written and oral directions
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager
• Remains professional and courteous to clients and co-workers while multitasking
