Job summary

LawnCare by Walter is seeking a licensed pesticide applicator to join our team in Northern Illinois. We offer on-the-job training for the right candidate and growth opportunities in a supportive, family-owned environment. Our technicians work outdoors for residential and commercial customers.

Be part of a team that takes pride in delivering quality service every day. This role involves applying lawn care treatments and operating various lawn equipment on daily routes.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Comfortable working outdoors in heat and changing weather conditions.
• Dependable and self-motivated.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds.
• Experience in lawn care, landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor is preferred.
• Passed the Illinois General Standards Exam (or willing to test).
• Experience with backpack sprayers or commercial mowing equipment.
• Experience installing bollards, posts, or performing concrete work.

Responsibilities

• Apply fertilizer, weed control, mosquito, and vegetation management treatments in accordance with company and safety standards.
• Safely and efficiently operate and maintain commercial lawn equipment, backpack sprayers, hand tools, power equipment, and other machinery.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to complete daily routes and projects.
