Job summary

Lawn Doctor of McHenry County is hiring Lawn Care Technicians to perform fertilization, weed control, aeration, and tree/shrub spraying for residential and commercial clients. The role requires completing training to obtain the Illinois pesticide license and offers a competitive weekly salary plus commissions for sales.

The position supports flexible scheduling, with options for full-time, part-time, and after-hours shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Illinois driver's license with good driving record.
• Professional appearance and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Pass state pesticide exam after training.
• Sales experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide fertilization, weed control, aeration, and tree/shrub spray.
• Perform pest control spray as needed.
• Follow Lawn Doctor servicing procedures.
• Provide quotes and lawn analysis; potential weekly commissions for sales.
• Maintain equipment and professional appearance.

We are currently seeking self‑motivated, passionate, and reliable Lawn Care Technicians who will be responsible for providing fertilization, weed control, aeration & seedings, tree & shrub spray, and pesticide services to our residential and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

• Lawn care services; Fertilization, Weed Control, Aeration, Tree and Shrub spray, Pest Control spray
• Follow Lawn Doctor servicing procedures
• Maintain personal and professional appearance, including equipment
• Provide professional and courteous customer service
• Provide quotes and lawn analysis (for qualified individuals, Opportunity to receive additional Weekly Commission for Sales)

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Must possess valid IL Driver's License with good driving record
• Professional appearance
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
• Able to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to read and recall regulations and procedures, and pass state issued pesticide exam
• Previous sales or industry experience is a plus, however not required
