Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Pest Control Associate in North Carolina to monitor non-retail areas such as Distribution, Manufacturing and Office spaces, with the aim of eliminating insects, rodents or wildlife. The role requires the ability to work weekends/holidays, lift up to 50 pounds, wear PPE, and obtain a Limited Structural Pest Control License within a year.

Applicants must pass required tests, demonstrate teamwork, and show commitment to Publix’s mission.

Qualifications

• Be at least 20 years old.
• Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Have a valid driver's license and obtain authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before start date).
• Be able to obtain a Limited Structural Pest Control License in Florida within one year of start date.
• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Be able to kneel, bend, climb, stoop, and twist.
• Be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance-management system.
• Be able to use chemicals and equipment that require PPE.
• Be able to read labels, write reports, calibrate chemicals, and solve math problems.
• Be able to interpret, understand, follow, and communicate instructions.
• Successfully complete Basic Office Skills and Following Written Instructions tests.
• Have the ability to work well with others and be a team member.
• Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work and commitment to Publix’s mission.
• Be able to obtain medical clearance to wear respiratory protection within 2 weeks of offer.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
