Job Description
- Develop manuals, forms, instructions, and participate in special projects to support the FBI Security Program.
- Conduct checks in accordance with policies and procedures, demonstrating innovative problem-solving to enhance data recovery.
- Analyze FBI investigative files to identify and develop linking information, assess security risks, and support clearance determinations.
- Perform security assessments to determine eligibility for security clearances and access.
- Provide training and guidance to lower-grade specialists and assist in complex case resolutions.
- Support FBI security investigations, formulate policies, and prepare summaries and correspondence.
- Coordinate with FBI divisions and other agencies on security concerns and investigations.
- Evaluate investigation reports and personnel files to recommend security decisions.
- Coordinate and conduct security interviews and polygraph examinations, providing detailed justifications.
- Prepare comprehensive analyses of security concerns and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ensure investigations comply with policies and legal requirements, and handle cases independently.
- Analyze investigation results to support security clearance decisions.
- Maintain awareness of trends and advise on follow-up actions, including security briefings.
- Process assignments with independence, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review investigation outcomes, ensuring all issues are addressed for security determinations.
- Coordinate with multiple agencies and maintain effective relationships for security matters.
- Adhere to FBI policies, legal requirements, and perform all duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Top Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship required.
- Technical training as an investigator or adjudicator.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 8+ years in Federal Law Enforcement or 10+ years in personnel security; security management experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills for interviews, briefings, and reports.
- Knowledge of record check systems and investigative processes.
- Analytical skills to evaluate security vulnerabilities and make adjudicative recommendations.
- For LE personnel: recent experience analyzing investigations, conducting record checks, and preparing reports; experience with counterintelligence, counterterrorism, or personnel security investigations; supervisory experience in investigations.
