Job Description:

Position Title: Personnel Security Specialist IV

Reports To: Program Manager

Clearance Type: Active Top Secret/SCI (willing to take CI Poly)

Work Location: Huntsville, Alabama

Start Date: On Contract Award

Summary of Duties Include But Not Limited To:

• Act as a Team Lead.
• Initiate or perform extensive indices checks, arrest record checks, and the like.
• Coordinate the submission of investigative information, review reports for conformance to requirements, and ensure procedures are followed.
• Determine inadequacies and transmit additional instructions/leads to the field.
• Prepare communications and transmit recommendations with analysis and data.
• Participate in formulating and revising rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to personnel security programs.
• Provide recommendations affecting personnel security missions.
• Ensure government and personnel are aware of potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct security briefings including Security Awareness and Hostile Threat.
• Provide guidance and resolve security issues for current employees and advise on security programs.
• Engage with internal and external customers on personnel security matters.
• Perform duties of a Personnel Security Specialist III, including conducting Background Investigations, preparing reports, and drafting summaries.

Required Experience:

• Current TOP SECRET clearance, SCI eligibility, willing to pass CI polygraph.
• Bachelor's Degree with 2 years' experience or associate degree with 4 years' experience; or 8 years' federal, state, local, or military law enforcement experience.
• At least 4 years' experience developing and writing Reports of Investigation.
• 8 years' experience in personnel security investigative or analyst fields.
• Experience interpreting database checks, developing investigative reports, and identifying security vulnerabilities.
• Ability to analyze materials and reports to discern vulnerabilities and leads.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and knowledgeable of federal and commercial database systems.
• Excellent communication skills for interviews, briefings, and written reports.

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree.
• Experience conducting interviews and security briefings.
• Previous security leadership experience.
• Understanding of security standards and guidelines such as FISs, SEADs, EOs, CFRs, and programs like Trusted Workforce and CV.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
