Job summary

Milestone Technologies is seeking a PERSEC Specialist to support the Facility Security Officer on day-to-day personnel security for cleared employees on classified contracts. You will work alongside the FSO to learn the program hands-on and grow into a CPSO for one or more contracts.

You will handle IC reportable-event intake, SEAD 3 reporting, and maintain accurate personnel security records across multiple contracts, building workflows and delivering security education content for cleared

Personnel Security (\"PERSEC\") Specialist

About the Role

Client’s U.S. Industrial Security team owns the company's facility clearance, personnel

security (PERSEC), classified contracts, and compliance across the Defense Industrial Base

and U.S. Intelligence Community.

We're seeking a PERSEC Specialist to support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) on day-to-day

personnel security casework for cleared employees on classified Intelligence Community

contracts. You'll work directly alongside the FSO, learning the program hands-on, and grow into

serving as Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) for one or more classified contracts.

Location

• Remote-friendly (US), with periodic travel to company offices in the U.S.

Security Clearance

This role requires an active U.S. Government security clearance. All matters related to the

clearance, including access, reporting, and any clearance actions, will be managed by

client’s security team in accordance with applicable U.S. Government requirements.

Milestone Technologies will not sponsor, hold, or administer the clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the FSO on PERSEC casework for cleared employees: clearance initiations and upgrades, contract additions and removals, in-briefs, debriefs, and terminations
• Grow into the CPSO role for one or more classified contracts, working with program managers, cleared employees, and government sponsors
• Manage IC reportable-event intake, including foreign travel and foreign contact reporting under SEAD 3
• Maintain accurate personnel security records and tracking across multiple contracts and customers
• Help build and document workflows and SOPs for recurring PERSEC processes
• Help develop and deliver security education content for cleared employees
• Use Claude and other AI tools to streamline PERSEC processes where appropriate, with the understanding that a meaningful amount of this work will remain manual given government constraints
• Take on special projects as needed

You may be a good fit if you:

• Have hands-on PERSEC casework experience in the NISP and/or Intelligence Community, both collateral and SCI
• Have experience with SEAD 3 reporting, program access requests and clearance verifications
• Are organized and accurate with high-volume, deadline-driven record-keeping
• Want to learn the full scope of an industrial security program, and are comfortable asking questions and figuring out what you don't yet know
• Notice what isn't working and propose fixes
• Can build trust quickly with cleared employees and program managers
• Can explain security requirements clearly to people outside the security field

Strong candidates may also have:

• Experience supporting or serving as a CPSO on a classified contract
• Experience with DISS, JADE, Scattered Castles, or other agency clearance systems
• Experience delivering security briefings or training to a cleared population
• Experience writing SOPs or building tracking systems for PERSEC processes
• Familiarity with adjacent industrial security functions: Safeguarding, DD254s/Contracts, FCL/Compliance
• Experience with Jira or similar ticketing systems
