Position: Personnel Security Specialist

Reports To: The Customer and Project Manager

Clearance Type: Active TS (with ability to obtain SCI with CI Poly)

Work Location: Reston, VA (onsite every weekday)

Job Description:

Advantage SCI is seeking qualified Personnel Security Specialists to be considered for full-time employment to support our government customer on-site in Reston, Virginia.

Summary Of Duties

• Assist the Government in assessing, validating, and certifying the trustworthiness of customer and DoD-affiliated personnel for access to sensitive information.
• Review forms for accuracy and process security clearance documentation.
• Maintain personnel security records and databases.
• Develop recommendations for granting, denying, or revoking security clearances.
• Check status of pending cases and maintain logs.
• Prepare reports and briefings as required.

Required Experience

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with ICD704, EO 12968, SEAD 3, 6, and 7.
• Knowledge of DNI and IRPTA timelines, skilled in prioritizing tasks.
• Experience with security systems like Scattered Castles, eQIP, JPAS, DISS, JVS, DCII, CVS; background investigations; DPRIS; OPM Portal; national agency checks.
• Strong writing skills, ability to analyze data.
• Understanding exceptions codes, waivers, conditions, deviations.
• Experience managing security cases in record systems.
• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Possess TS/SCI clearance and pass CI Poly.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in DIA is a plus.
• Valid certification in PII and Cyber Awareness from IASE within 30 days of hire.
