Job summary

Louisville Area YMCA is seeking Personal Trainers to support members in achieving fitness goals by creating individualized programs and fostering a welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Role involves maintaining client records, timely communication, and delivering programs aligned with YMCA guidelines, while modeling personal fitness and supporting YMCA events and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in Exercise Science or related field and/or certification from a nationally recognized accreditation agency.
• CPR/AED certifications.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
• YMCA/ACE Foundations of Strength & Conditioning within 60 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Maintains well-documented, accurate and pertinent information on each client
• Follows through in a timely manner on initial communication with client
• Designs, maintains, and adjusts individual programs specific to the client's needs and wants in accordance with National YMCA guidelines
• Serves as a good role model by maintaining or improving their own personal fitness level
• Supports Y programs, promotions, and events
• Deals with each situation by using the YMCA Character Values
• Develops and maintains community collaborations
• Knows and abides by Y policies and procedures

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members by providing specific individualized programs designed to meet his/her fitness needs and goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

Rate of Pay

$15 - $20/hour
