Job summary

Ymca Of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Personal Trainer to deliver engaging, safe, and effective fitness experiences for members, guests, and program participants.

Under supervision of the Fitness Director, you will conduct 1-on-1, partner, and group sessions, tailor workouts to individual needs, and foster a welcoming environment. You will maintain certifications, record appointments, communicate with the team, and uphold YMCA policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all social/economic segments.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Preferred fitness and/or personal training experience.
• Nationally recognized accredited personal training certification required (ACE/NASM/ISSA/NCSF).
• Proficient computer skills.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, appropriately challenging training sessions (1-on-1, partner, and group).
• Provide welcoming environment and engage with members and program participants.
• Record appointments and maintain ongoing communication with supervisor.
• Maintain equipment safety and report issues.
• Adhere to YMCA policies and code of conduct.
• Lead in conflict resolution and handle member concerns.
• Attend meetings and participate in staff trainings.
