Job summary

The Westfield Area Y is seeking certified Personal Trainers to join our Health & Wellness team in Westfield, NJ. You will instruct clients on equipment usage across multiple rooms, design programs for clients with special needs, perform fitness testing and evaluations, and ensure certifications are renewed on time.

Pay ranges from $27.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on certifications held. Eligible staff receive benefits such as a complimentary YMCA membership, paid sick leave, 403b retirement

Qualifications

• CPR for the professional rescuer, First Aid with EPI and Asthma required
• Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized organization
• Previous Personal Training experience preferred
• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills

Responsibilities

• Instruct clients on the usage and function of exercise equipment in all gym areas
• Lift and move exercise equipment as needed
• Design exercise programs for clients with special needs and health concerns
• Perform fitness testing and evaluations for clients
• Renew all certifications on time

• Must be able to lift and move exercise equipment


• Ability to design exercise programs for those with special needs and health concerns


• Perform fitness testing and evaluations for clients


• Responsible for renewing all certifications on time

Pay Range

$27.00-$30.00 per hour, based on certifications held
