Job Summary:The primary focus of this position is being available and offering personal training services to Club members and nonmembers. All personal trainers are to demonstrate Parkpoint’s Mission(see above)and Core Values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Community and Health and Well Being at all times. This includes cultivating a welcoming, non-threatening workout environment for all members of all ages and fitness levels; attending to member safety; responding to members’ questions and concerns as well as overseeing equipment; its safety, cleanliness and proper operation.
Be a knowledgeable and accessible resource for members. Be friendly, upbeat, outgoing, a committed team player and establish a good rapport with all members and staff. Respond with personable, pro-active, win-win, solution-oriented customer service to all members and in all situations. Complete all specific cleaning as instructed.
Acquiring clients through personable, consistent service and outreach is essential and encouraged. Aggressive, competitive sales tactics are not acceptable. If and when regular Fitness Floor shifts are assigned, personal training is to be scheduled during off-shift hours only – training on shift is not allowed without specific permission of the Club Manager.
Trainers are compensated for training sessions completed with clients at a specified session rate depending on the length and type of the session. Timesheet record keeping, session scheduling, and session-related member interactions are considered administrative time and are compensated at the hourly minimum wage rate. The expectation of reasonable time to complete administrative activities is currently 10 minutes maximum per completed session and any additional time must be pre-approved by the Fitness Director. This administrative time may occur before or after sessions or may be used cumulatively on a daily basis.
