Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is seeking a Personal Trainer to join the Bronson Lifestyle Improvement & Research Center in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will create safe and effective exercise programs while providing one-on-one coaching geared towards achieving clients' fitness goals.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 6-12 months of personal trainer experience, along with a valid Certified Personal Trainer certification. Candidates must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage administrative tasks.

Qualifications

Provides one-on-one wellness coaching, exercise plans, movement assessment, documentation of exercise programs, and administrative tasks as needed. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6-12 months of experience as a personal trainer required Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related health field (with courses in First Aid/CPR, biomechanics, exercise prescription, and nutrition) preferred Current Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM) or Certified Strength and Condition Specialist (CSCS) required (must be in good standing and valid in the state of Michigan) • Must have strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to analyze movements and determine/correct faulty movement patterns • Must be able to interpret body composition testing in order to make recommendations for improvements • Must have strong communication skills both verbally and in writing Work which produces very high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g. CRT work between 70 and 90 percent of the time, and work involving extremely close tolerances and considerable hand/eye coordination for sustained periods of time. Job definitely requires above average strength and/or stamina to regularly lift weights up to 100 pounds and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment and other objects. Work may be performed in positions requiring considerable expenditure of effort in reaching, climbing, maintaining balance, or manipulating heavy objects. • Creates exercise programs for a wide range of clientele. • Conducts individual meetings with members regarding exercise, nutrition, stress, and sleep. • Performs movement assessments and reviews health history as a baseline upon which to prescribe exercise. • Critiques and evaluates client’s form while providing exercises to improve outcome and minimize the chance of injury. • Handles administrative tasks such as billing, scheduling sessions, reconciling payroll, and responding to emails. • Follows up with clients via phone or email to check progress and provide feedback.## ## **Shift**Variable## ## **Time Type**Part time## ## **Scheduled Weekly Hours**10## ## ## **Cost Center**2721 Personal Training (BLIRC)
