Overview
Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager of Fitness, the Professional Fitness Trainer provides evaluation of client status and delivers safe and professional, client-based exercise routines to help clients achieve fitness goals. Responsible for achieving personal revenue goals each month while providing the best customer service and hospitality to all members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Meet minimum private training sales of 40 sessions per month and maintain positive client retention
- Provide new member fitness consultations and evaluations
- Develop individual exercise programs based upon client’s abilities, health, and goals
- Be on time for all scheduled appointments
- Maintain accurate, current records on all client exercise programs and progress
- Keep track of each client’s training sessions and fee payments
- Enforce all fitness center and club policies
- Assist in the development, implementation and marketing of innovative private and group private fitness trainer programs
- Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the fitness center
- Record each day’s work, actual time worked, and client sessions in the tracking system
- Participate in meetings and training programs; attend club-sponsored developmental or educational seminars
- Maintain valid trainer and CPR/AED certification
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Sales and Marketing — Knowledge of principles for showing, promoting, and selling services, including marketing strategy, tactics, and sales techniques
- Problem Anticipation/ Deductive Reasoning — Ability to identify problems and apply appropriate solutions
- Written Comprehension and Expression — Ability to read, understand and communicate information in writing
- Oral Comprehension and Expression — Ability to understand and communicate ideas clearly
- Computer — Ability to maintain computer records in Word, Excel and other required software; ability to develop tracking and report forms
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service attitude and abilities
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Interacts with clients and staff in person, by phone, and by email
- Work location may involve indoor and outdoor settings; extreme environmental conditions are not typical
- Occasionally deal with difficult situations; problem solving may be required
- Adapt to a frequently changing environment
- Sitting and standing as needed
- Use of hands for objects and controls; reach with hands and arms
- Occasional lift up to 50 pounds
- Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Estimated Base Pay Range: $17.50 - $81.00 / hour
